Roberto Piqueras studied fashion at the Felicidad Duce Fashion and Design Institute, a school located in Barcelona which opened its doors more than 80 years ago. Whilst studying he began his professional career working as assistant to a number of fashion stylists.
Once he had finished his studies, Piqueras began to work as a designer and pattern-maker for a small furrier’s in Tarragona. He decided to move to Madrid, where he made a return to the world of styling.
In February 2008 Piqueras had the opportunity to present his first menswear collection at the Ego show during Madrid fashion week, Cibeles.
Piqueras has continued showing his collections at Ego.
Apart from the development of his own collections, Piqueras now works with brands like Wrangler, Eastpak and Yamaha and collaborates with fashion magazines such as Vanidad and Neo2.
The brand, “Roberto Piqueras” mixes sporty elements with, irony, humour and fun, but above all it breathes one city, Barcelona. It began its journey as a menswear collection but evolved, in the words of Piqueras himself, into “a species of unisex, without complexes” before he finally began to design for “women, but without really considering sex”.
